SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A Buena Park man was sentenced Monday to three years and four months in prison for stealing nearly $300,000 in Oakley goods that was meant for the military, then selling the stolen merchandise on eBay.

Luis Quintanilla, 48, accepted a plea deal from prosecutors Feb. 2 that included an order by Superior Court Judge Scott Steiner to pay $299,000 in restitution and a $580,000 fine, though the defendant appears to have little means to do so, according to Senior Deputy District Attorney Marc Labreche.

Quintanilla was released from custody in February so he could put his affairs in order before beginning his prison term, Labreche said.

The sentence reflected his “taking responsibility for his actions at an early time,” the prosecutor said of Quintanilla, who was charged last December.

Quintanilla was working as a contractor, driving a truck for DHL between October 2012 and May 2013…
